COUNSELING VERSUS COACHING
Counseling and coaching are similar but should not be mistaken for the same. Both practices involve understanding human behavior and using interactive techniques, but they differ in professional responsibility, focus, and intensity.
COUNSELING
Counseling, a branch of psychology, helps individuals manage issues and achieve well-being. It provides a safe space to discuss difficult or painful topics that can be hard to face alone. Counseling encourages exploring solutions for everyday struggles by focusing on past experiences, mental health, and personal concerns. Asking for help is a positive step, not a sign of weakness. Jill offers both short-term and long-term counseling for adults and couples facing various challenges.
COACHING
Coaching is goal-oriented, supporting personal growth and helping clients become who they aspire to be. It empowers individuals and couples to build confidence through action, with a coach assisting in lifestyle changes, planning, and execution. While coaching doesn’t involve diagnosis, as a licensed counselor and therapist, Jill White-Huffman follows confidentiality laws and mandated reporting. Coaching can be impactful across all areas of life if past issues are addressed and you’re ready to move forward.
